PLAYING POKER IN DOLLARS

StudentPokerPro.com

Playing In Dollars And Currency ExchangeIf you are from the UK, you may have noticed that the currencies supported by the online poker rooms on this site are in Dollars rather than Pounds. So you may well be wondering how you can play online poker if the currency in your bank account in in Pounds sterling.

The answer is that you do not need to do anything special to play at these rooms, just make a deposit in however many Pounds (£) you wish, and they will automatically be converted to Dollars ($) after the deposit has been made into your account. There is no need to worry about converting any of your money, as it is all done automatically by the poker rooms.

Similarly, when you decide to withdraw your money, all you have to do is withdraw how much you want, and the money will again be converted back from Dollars into Pounds for when it hits your bank account.

In addition, if you are from Ireland or Europe, the same automatic exchange will take place from Euros into Dollars. This ensures that everyone at the poker table is playing with the same currency to avoid any confusion, and help with the overall flow of the game.

At first, it may seem a little confusing to play poker in a completely different currency, but after a while you become accustomed to the exchange rates and can see the value in the amount of money you are playing with. It is important to be careful when you start out playing to know how much money X amount of dollars are worth, otherwise you could end up risking more money than you think.

Depositing In DollarsIt's a good idea to keep an eye on the GBP to USD exchange rates so that you know how many dollars you are getting for your money. X-rates is my personal favourite when it comes to checking out the exchange rate, and I check it out about once a month to see how things are looking as far as the USD and GBP currencies are concerned.

At the time of writing, there are about 2 dollars for every pound, so you can work out how much money you have in pounds by dividing your poker account by 2. This is quite convenient for now, but things are always changing as far as exchange rates are concerned.

As I have mentioned, it may feel strange to play poker in a completely different currency, but it is something that you will easily become comfortable with after a few sessions. After a few days you will have no problems in working out how much money is on the table, and how much each bet works out to be.
