MOVING FROM PLAY MONEY TO REAL MONEY

StudentPokerPro.com

Going From Play Money To Real MoneyIf you are a solid play money player looking to make the transition onto the real money tables, it is only natural to have a few concerns. The play money tables offer the excitement of playing as many hands as you like without the fear of losing any money, no matter how unlucky you get or badly you might play. However, nothing quite compares to the thrill of wagering your own money against opponents from around the world online in an attempt to outsmart and outplay them so that you can walk away with more than you started with. If you feel that your game is good enough to move to the next level, it’s time to take your seat at the real money tables.

If you want to win money from online poker, you are not going to be able to do it through sitting down at the play money tables. At some point you are going to have to make a deposit and venture over to the tables where you are going to have to put some of your own money at stake. Naturally, a number of players will have their concerns about this, but it is only because they are being overly cautious and worried that they may actually lose a fair share of their hard earned money. This is a common feeling that is shared by the majority of new real money players, but it is one that normally dissipates after they get their feet wet and play their first few hands.

It is important to remember that the cash games will be a lot different to the play money games, which is because players at the real cash tables are going to play far better when they have their own money at stake. Therefore it is important that you try to get into the real money games so that you can learn how to play well against players that are playing correctly to try and win, rather than against players that have no concern about how they play such as at the play money tables. There is only so much that you will be able to learn with play money, and so you will need to enter the cash games if you want to improve and take your game to the next level.

One of the best aspects of online poker is that there is such a wide variety of stakes made available to the player. Therefore you can wager as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, without ever needing to leave your comfort zone. There are stakes as low as 1c/2c at rooms like Titan, so that you can play with very small amounts of money just to get some experience of real money play before moving up the stakes. Starting off small and moving up is a great way to build your confidence in your own ability, and set yourself on you way to playing at stakes where you can earn a decent amount of money for your time.

Some players will also have concerns about the safety of their money after making a deposit to an online gambling company. There has always been a general bad feeling in society about anything gambling related, and so it is not uncommon to be wary of sending money to your online poker account. However, I can happily say that your money couldn’t be any safer at these companies, as I or no one I know has ever had any trouble with their money with gambling related companies (and I know a lot of online gamblers!). If you think about it logically, gambling companies are going to want to build a solid reputation when it comes to handling money, and so they are not going to be slacking in any department so that they can make sure that your money is safe at all times.

I can clearly remember the excitement and thrill of making my first ever deposit to an online poker room. I was excited at the prospect of being able to play against players from across the world to try and win money, yet awfully anxious about the safety of my money and the fear that I may lose it and become a terrible gambling addict. But knowing myself well, I knew that I was not the sort of person to get addicted and throw money away, so I put my card details down and made my first $50 deposit with the thought that I would not make another deposit if it all went pear-shaped. Since then, lets just say that I have never looked back, and I wouldn’t be earning those few extra figures every month if I didn’t send that first small deposit over.

In my honest opinion, it is definitely worth your while to give real money poker a shot, as you can always decide to leave it if thing’s don’t go your way. There is nothing that quite compares to pulling off bluffs and taking down big money pots, and it is certainly something that I would recommend people should experience. The transition from play to real money seems quite big from a play money player’s perspective, but it will appear to be so much smaller after you make the jump. So when you feel you are ready to get stuck in, put any concerns you might have at the back of your mind, and prepare to embark on a your journey to win money from online poker.
